The Spherefix SP30 Pro Rover and Base Set gives surveying and construction teams a complete local RTK positioning system. One SP30 Pro receiver is installed over a known or established point as the base station, while the second receiver is used as the mobile rover. The base calculates GNSS correction data and transmits it to the rover, allowing the operator to work with centimetre-level positioning across the project site.

The base and rover communicate through the receivers’ integrated data radios. Transmission range depends on the selected radio power, antenna position, terrain, local interference and whether there is a clear line of sight between the base and rover. Placing the base in a stable, elevated position generally supports a stronger correction link across the working area.
Multi-constellation tracking for reliable positioning
Each SP30 Pro receiver uses 1408 channels to track GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo, QZSS, SBAS and NavIC signals. Multi-frequency and multi-constellation support gives the system access to a broad range of satellites and helps it maintain useful positioning availability in real field conditions.
This is important when working near buildings, trees, machinery or other objects that partly obstruct the sky. GNSS performance will always depend on the site environment, but tracking more satellite systems gives the receiver more observations to use when calculating its position and resolving an RTK-fixed solution.
AR stakeout with live camera guidance
The SP30 Pro includes a forward-facing camera for AR real-scene stakeout. Instead of relying only on directional arrows and numerical offsets, the operator can view stakeout guidance over a live image of the actual site. This provides a clearer visual route towards the selected design point.
AR guidance is practical when setting out foundations, building corners, road features, utility locations, piles, grid points and landscape designs. It can reduce confusion about the direction of travel and make GNSS stakeout easier to understand for construction workers who do not use surveying equipment every day.
Photogrammetric measurement for inaccessible points
The receiver’s imaging system can also be used for photogrammetric point measurement with compatible field software. This allows the operator to determine certain points from captured images without placing the pole tip directly on every feature.
Image-based measurement is useful for building corners, façades, trench details, road edges, stockpiles and objects behind fences or other obstacles. It can reduce the need to enter unsafe areas and helps crews collect additional site detail while remaining in an accessible position. Results depend on image quality, working distance, camera geometry, calibration and the surrounding field conditions.
Measure with the pole tilted up to 60°
The integrated IMU compensates for a pole tilt of up to 60°. Spherefix states positioning accuracy below 2 cm within the supported tilt range. This lets operators record a point without carefully centring the pole bubble for every measurement.
Tilt compensation is especially useful beside walls, underneath vegetation, around parked equipment and along trenches or embankments. It also makes routine topographic collection and construction checks more efficient by reducing the time required to level the pole.
Flexible radio and internet communication
The SP30 Pro includes a 410–470 MHz data radio with selectable transmission power, as well as 4G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. For a local base-and-rover workflow, the radio carries correction data directly from the stationary base to the moving rover. Where a suitable mobile network is available, either receiver can also support internet-based correction workflows.
These communication options allow the same set to be adapted to different projects. A crew can use its own radio base on one site and connect the rover to an NTRIP service on another. Permitted frequencies and transmission power vary between countries, so the radio configuration must comply with local regulations.
C100T controller for surveying and stakeout
The Spherefix C100T is a rugged Android field controller used to configure the receivers, create survey jobs, record points and guide stakeout work. Its physical keypad and outdoor display make it suitable for use on construction sites and during longer surveying sessions.
The controller provides the interface between the operator and the GNSS system. Depending on the supplied field software, users can manage coordinate systems, import CAD or point data, enter feature codes, stake out lines and points, and export completed measurements for further processing.
Suitable for demanding outdoor projects
The SP30 Pro uses a magnesium-alloy receiver body with IP68 environmental protection. This helps protect the equipment against dust, rain and the normal knocks associated with daily construction and surveying work. The receiver is also specified to withstand a 1.5 metre pole drop under stated test conditions.
In rover mode, the internal battery provides more than 24 hours of operation under the manufacturer’s stated conditions. Long receiver endurance is valuable on large sites and remote projects where access to charging facilities may be limited.
