Complete RTK GNSS Rover Set for Surveying and Construction
The PozStar S5 RTK GNSS Rover Set provides the main equipment required to begin centimetre-accurate field surveying with an RTK correction service. The package includes a PozStar S5 multi-frequency GNSS receiver, a rugged Geoelectron P9IV Android controller, PozPad surveying software, a telescopic pole and a controller bracket.
This combination is suitable for land surveyors, construction professionals, civil engineers, utility contractors and GIS teams that need to measure or set out accurate coordinates. Because the controller, pole and software are supplied with the receiver, users do not need to assemble a field setup from separate components.
1,408-Channel Multi-Constellation GNSS Receiver
The PozStar S5 uses a 1,408-channel GNSS board capable of tracking signals from GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, QZSS, NavIC and supported SBAS services. Multi-constellation and multi-frequency tracking gives the receiver access to more satellite observations, helping it calculate and maintain an accurate position throughout the working day.
This is particularly useful on construction sites, in built-up areas and near vegetation, where buildings, machinery or trees can partially obstruct the sky. Actual performance will always depend on satellite visibility, correction quality, multipath and local working conditions, but broad signal support gives the receiver more data to work with than a basic single-frequency GPS unit.
Centimetre-Level RTK Positioning
When connected to a suitable RTK correction source, the S5 has a specified horizontal RTK accuracy of 0.8 cm + 1 ppm and a vertical accuracy of 1.5 cm + 1 ppm RMS. In practical fieldwork, this makes the set suitable for recording survey points, setting out construction coordinates, checking levels and positions, mapping utilities and collecting accurate GIS features.
The rover can receive NTRIP corrections through the internet connection of the P9IV controller. This allows users to work with a compatible CORS or commercial RTK network without setting up a local base receiver. A compatible UHF configuration can also be used where corrections are transmitted from a local base station.
60 Degree IMU Tilt Compensation
The integrated MEMS IMU compensates for survey-pole angles of up to 60 degrees. Instead of carefully levelling the pole over every point, the operator can deliberately tilt it while the receiver calculates the position of the pole tip.
This is useful when measuring beside walls, beneath overhangs, close to fences, inside trenches or around parked machinery. It also reduces the time spent centring and levelling the pole during repetitive point collection. The result is a more practical workflow for users who need to collect many points during a working day.
Rugged P9IV Android Field Controller
The included Geoelectron P9IV is a professional Android field controller built for outdoor data collection. Its 5-inch touchscreen provides a portable interface for configuring the receiver, connecting to RTK corrections, collecting points, entering codes and managing survey projects.
The controller runs Android 11 and uses an octa-core processor with Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. Physical buttons and programmable survey keys make it easier to operate while wearing gloves or working in wet and dusty conditions. Its IP67-rated housing is designed for use on construction sites and other demanding outdoor projects.
A 6,400 mAh internal battery supports extended field operation. Actual runtime varies with mobile data use, screen brightness, Bluetooth activity and installed applications.
PozPad Surveying Software Included
PozPad is the Android-based field application supplied for use with the receiver. It supports survey-data collection, control-point work, mapping input and drawing-related field tasks. The software communicates with the S5 through Bluetooth, allowing the controller to display receiver status and store collected measurements.
For construction work, the system can be used to navigate to design coordinates and record completed measurements. Surveyors can collect coded points for later processing, while GIS teams can record accurate positions for utilities, assets, boundaries and other features.
Designed for Everyday Outdoor Work
The PozStar S5 has an IP67-rated housing designed to resist dust and temporary water exposure. Its die-cast construction, protective elastomer elements and scratch-resistant coating help it cope with the knocks and handling associated with daily site work. The receiver is also designed to withstand drops of up to two metres under specified test conditions.
At approximately 793 grams, the S5 remains light enough for long periods of pole-mounted surveying. This lower weight can make a noticeable difference during topographic surveys, GIS inventories and construction projects where the receiver is carried for most of the day.
Battery and Data Connectivity
The receiver contains a 6,700 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery. PozStar states an operating time of up to 12 hours in RTK rover mode and up to 18 hours during static observations, depending on configuration and use.
Bluetooth connects the receiver to the P9IV controller, while Wi-Fi can be used for receiver access and data management. A USB Type-C port supports charging, data transfer and firmware updates. The S5 also includes 8 GB of internal storage for static and field data.
Typical Applications
- Construction layout and position checks
- Topographic and land surveying
- Boundary and cadastral measurements
- Road and infrastructure surveys
- Utility and underground-asset mapping
- GIS feature and asset collection
- Control-point and static GNSS observations
What Is Included in the Rover Set?
The standard rover package is built around the equipment needed for a practical pole-mounted RTK workflow:
- PozStar S5 RTK GNSS receiver
- Geoelectron P9IV rugged Android controller
- PozPad field surveying software
- Telescopic survey pole
- Controller bracket
Individual accessories and the radio configuration may be adapted to suit the intended project, correction service or existing equipment. The exact supplied configuration should therefore be confirmed when ordering.
Support from Global GPS Systems
Global GPS Systems can help match the PozStar S5 Rover Set to the intended surveying workflow. This includes checking NTRIP compatibility, controller connectivity, UHF requirements, field-software needs and suitable accessories.
For users moving from basic GPS equipment to RTK surveying, correct setup and support are important. Coordinate systems, correction sources, antenna heights and project settings all affect the final result. A properly configured rover set helps construction workers, surveyors and GIS teams begin collecting reliable field data with fewer setup problems.
